Despite a recent security breach at Bybit crypto exchange, Ethereum remains bullish on its future, targeting a price of $4,000 by 2025.

Bybit Crypto Exchange Faces $1.5 Billion Hack – What’s Going On?

Bybit, a prominent cryptocurrency exchange, suffered a security breach on Friday, leading to the unauthorized withdrawal of over $1.5 billion in liquid-staked Ether (ETH) and MegaETH (mETH). The hack caused panic in the crypto community and ETH prices to drop more than 4%. Bybit CEO Ben Zhou confirmed that the attack compromised the platform’s multi-signature ETH cold wallet.

Ethereum Targets $4K in 2025

Ethereum is on track to reach a potentially impressive milestone of $4,000 by 2025, capturing significant market interest. The current bull market is gaining momentum, and Ethereum's upward movement is noteworthy. However, certain alternative coins are showing even stronger bullish signals, attracting increased attention with their potential for outsized gains.

Ethereum Price Prediction Suggests a Potential Breakout

According to technical analysis, Ethereum is poised for a bullish breakout that could potentially push its price above the all-time high of $4,878. The cryptocurrency is currently at a critical inflection point, supported by strong technical indicators such as extremely strong support and the monthly 55 EMA. Despite struggling to keep up with the broader market in recent years, Ethereum may finally be ready to break free from this underwhelming trend.

Bybit Remains Solvent Despite $1.5B Hack, CEO Says

Bybit CEO Ben Zhou confirmed that the crypto exchange remains solvent and will cover all claims, despite a growing withdrawal queue following a $1.5 billion hack that drained its Ethereum (ETH) cold wallet. The exchange is currently working through a bank run, with a long queue of withdrawal claims. Zhou estimated that up to 70% of claims have been processed, but some users may experience delays due to network congestion.
